We are seeking an experienced Controls Technician Trainee for First Quality Retail Services. This position will be located in King of Prussia, PA.
Controls Technician Trainee:
Hours: Anticipated that during Trainee Period you will work M:F 7AM:3:30PM: once through trainee program, you will work nights 7PM:7AM on 3:2:2 schedule (3 on, 2 off, 2 on)

Purpose:

Take personal responsibility to prevent accidents and injuries by observing established working rules, follow the directions of supervisors, practice the principles taught in safety training and provide ideas to further strengthen our program. Learn to troubleshoot and repair electrical/ electronic systems on First Quality production machinery.

Responsibilities:

Adheres to all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational policies and procedures. Must abide by all safety requirements and attain safety goals.

Months 1 through 3 the candidate will work under the supervision of the Lead Electrician or Shift Electrician. The learning goals for this block are:

Electrical safety
:
Print reading
:
System identification
:
Component location
:
Process knowledge

Months 4 through 6 the candidate will work under the supervision of the Lead Electrician or Shift Electrician. The learning goals for this block are:
:
Standard control circuits (push button, relays, etc.).
:
AC motor troubleshooting
:
DC motor troubleshooting
:
Inverters
:
DC drives
:
Glue tank systems

Months 7 through 9 the candidate will work under the supervision of the Lead Electrician or Shift Electrician. The learning goals for this block are:
:
Use of the pc to monitor and troubleshoot plcs, drives, unwinds, and control circuits.
:
File saving, uploading, downloading
:
Servo controls and motors

Months 10 through12 the candidate will work under the supervision of the Lead Electrician or Shift Electrician. He/she will be responsible to answer production calls, troubleshoot machine problems and make repairs in a reasonable amount of time.
:
Performs work neatly in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
:
Works safely in accordance with First Quality safety policies.
:
Keeps work area neat and orderly.

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
Education and Experience:
:
An associate degree in Industrial Electricity, Electro:mechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics or similar degree. Technical school diplomas and military training will be given consideration.
:
Candidates will be assigned shifts based upon manufacturing needs.
:
Must be a self:starter.
:
Must have good interpersonal skills and interface with all departments.
:
Must be able to use necessary test equipment.
:
Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language and perform basic mathematical skills.
:
Must have tools necessary to perform tasks associated with the position.

:
Normal mobility, manual dexterity, normal visual and auditory ability required. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds and be able to bend, climb, stoop and crawl.
:
Must be able to pass written, practical and technical aptitude tests.
:
Must be able to work nights, overtime and a 3:2:2, 12 hour work schedule
:
Must be able to pass minimum required standard on all competency tests.
