Responsible for providing engineering design and analysis in the PSEG Nuclear Corporate Design Engineering department and performing duties of Lead Responsible Engineer for plant design changes and procurement engineering evaluations and dedication plans. Major duties include resolving complex technical issues, performing structural analysis for PWR systems/structures/components, preparation and review of design calculations, monitoring the quality and performance of contractors performing design analysis, preparing plant design changes, leading multi:discipline teams as project engineer, preparing design changes, supporting plant emergent issues and generation challenges, providing outage engineering support, procurement engineering tasks including Item equivalency evaluations and Commercial Grade Dedication plans, and participating in the Emergency Response organization. Perform walkdowns to verify as:built conditions and confirm modification scope. Prepares and reviews plant configuration packages in accordance with plant procedures. The candidate should have in depth knowledge of AISC and ACI design codes as well as and understanding of NRC requirements for Safety Related Structures. The successful candidate will also perform other assigned duties as determined by the Civil/Structural Design Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will also be assigned duties In the Emergency Response Organization. This is an entry to advance level position. Successful candidates will be evaluated/selected based on level of experience /education
REQUIRED: BS Degree in Engineering. One to five years experience in the nuclear or relevant industry performing Structural/seismic design/analysis or procurement engineering. Ability to inspect structures, systems, and components in the industrial areas of nuclear power plant. Availability for Shift Work during plant outages and generation challenges. The candidate should have solid knowledge of AISC and ACI design codes and also NRC requirements for piping and pipe support design. The ability to use proficiently software analysis tools such as ME:101, GT Strudl or equivalent. Must meet Nuclears requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.
DESIRED: 10 years experience in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering. Experience in pipe stress and pipe support analysis and design. Experience with Item equivalency evaluations, Commercial Grade Dedication plans and Item classification. Professional engineering license. The candidate should have knowledge of ASME B31.1, Section III, and Section IX, NRC requirements for piping design and the ability to use proficiently software analysis tools such as ME:101 or equivalent.
