Build the Future Education Collaborative

Build the Future Education Collaborative provides support services to schools that work with integrity to enable predominately disadvantaged students to further their achievement and joy in school, society, and life. At this time, Build the Future does this by acting as a not-for-profit charter support organization for the Freire Charter Schools, which consist of three campuses in Philadelphia, PA and one in Wilmington, DE.

The Freire network of charter schools was founded in 1999 with the opening of Freire Charter School in Philadelphia. With the opening of our campus in Wilmington in 2015, it became necessary to form a separate legal entity to provide support services to all Freire schools, which was named Build the Future. As a charter support organization, we assist schools in areas including leadership recruitment and development, governance, facilities management, strategic planning, accounting and financial management, legal compliance, information technology services, fundraising, and marketing.

Our team works creatively to do whatever it takes to get the job done, and we are willing to do things differently to get them done well. We believe that relationships matter and we respect diversity and individuality so that everyone feels included on the team. Working with us provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about charter schools and to gain exposure to the workings of both the education and nonprofit fields.
