Purpose and Objective of Position
The intern / fellow for communications and external affairs will support the Office of the President related to projects and assignments related to the communications and external affairs goals and objectives in SAP North America.
Expectations and Tasks
Specifically, the intern / fellow will support the Senior Director, Strategic Communications and the Chief of Staff, Office of the President, North America with tasks and projects related to:
Writing / editing posts, notes, and other content.
Plan and coordinate external events
Coordinate briefing papers for major SAP North America events
Projects related to local, state, and regional engagements including sponsorships of events and other initiatives.
Completing extensive research and analysis support for principals and staff.
Assisting in complete lifecycle development of reports, deliverables, and presentations.
Assisting in logistical preparations in support of travel and events.
Monitoring media and compiling news analysis as needed.
Completing administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling, and coordinating meetings.
Other projects as assigned.
Skills / Competencies
The following skills and competencies are required / preferred:
Excellent interpersonal and verbal / non:verbal communications skills, including writing and research skills and experience. Write in a compelling and concise professional fashion.
Strong organization, attention to detail, multitasking, and time management skills.
Possess strong organizational, proofreading, and clerical skills.
Work well in an energetic, collaborative environment; Initiative and ability to work well independently and with others.
Positive "can do" attitude and comfortable with meeting deadlines in a fast:paced environment.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree completed or in progress from an accredited institution, preferably with 2:3 years of prior experience in a professional or consulting environment.
Hold a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Demonstrate strong, proven research and writing skills.
Exceptional writing and editing skills and experience.
Have a working knowledge of technology, innovation, and software issues.
