Job Description

Human Resources Manager will work closely with plant operations leaders on both strategic and tactical HR initiatives that align with our overall talent and manufacturing strategy. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with union leaders in relation to execution of the collective bargaining agreement and resolving issues/grievances. This role reports to the HR Director, and has accountability to the Plant Manager.



  • Provides HR leadership, guidance and support on both a strategic and tactical level for our Frankford and Pottsville operations
    • Builds relationships with Employees and Managers to proactively identify key issues
    • Develops action plans and solutions to address key employee issues (engagement, morale, development, etc.)
    • Leads Employee Relations investigations; provides recommendations on levels of Corrective Action to Plant Manager based on findings in investigations
    • Handles grievance meetings and manages labor relations process
    • Serves as an expert in understanding contractual labor obligations and terms
  • Leadership Development
    • Identifies leadership/management team gaps and development areas
    • Partners with training to develop and facilitate meaningful and impactful leadership development trainings and programs
    • Coaches managers on development areas as well as how to resolve and work through complex Employee issues
  • Facilitates regular compensation reviews and partners with Plant Manager and Director of Human Resources on merit increase process
  • Evaluates turnover data; develops and implements proactive action plans to increase retention and improve engagement
  • Assists Plant Manager with forecasting and workforce planning
  • Drives hiring results by partnering with hiring managers and staffing specialists
  • Manages the partnership with temporary agencies; oversees temporary employee process to include assessing and requesting of needs, onboarding and training, tracking, etc.
  • Facilitates the Career Development process and new hire orientation and onboarding


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, industrial psychology or other related field of study.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience resolving employee relations issues; strong conflict resolution skills
  • Previous union experience required
  • Exceptional influencing and collaboration skills
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with integrity and discretion
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to consult with, partner and influence leaders across the organization
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building, analytical and communication skills
