Job Description Eastern Metal Recycling (“EMR”) is well positioned as one of the Eastern USA’s leading metal recyclers with over 20 operating sites in the Philadelphia, Camden and surrounding areas of NJ, PA, DE, NY and CT. The Company employs nearly 400 employees and is a full service scrap recycler of both ferrous and non-ferrous materials, providing service to manufacturers, demolition contractors and recycling yards in the East Coast. EMR operates 4 port sites with deep vessel loading and shipping to international markets that support the sale of metal recycled through local operating facilities. EMR has grown significantly over the last few years, having undertaken a number of ‘tuck-in’ acquisitions to increase its geographical footprint and continues to undertake significant capital investment to increase production and product-line capabilities. EMR is an operating region of European Metal Recycling, a UK-based privately-held entity (). EMR opened the division, My Auto Store, a used auto part recycling business in 2012. The Company now operates 6 such yards ranging from full car dismantling to customer U-Pull It locations. The Company is planning to open a state-of-the-art car parts dismantling facility in early 2018. The Company seeks a Plant Accountant to join the team on this exciting growth plan. Responsibilities and duties: Reports To : Senior Accountant, Auto Parts Description : To provide financial leadership at the local plant level ensuring daily operations are in compliance with accounting internal controls. The Plant Accountant fulfilling a variety of technical, clerical, internal and external responsibilities as delegated by senior accountant. Tasks include input and preparation of journal entries, general ledger management and generating financial reports. Performs day-to day general accounting functions. Essential Duties: Daily reconciliation of reported sales to collections and Powerlink reports for U-Pull It Depots Daily reconciliation of reported sales at Full Service location to Daily Driver Delivery Sheet and Powerlink. Prepare and post required adjustments daily; Review credits issued for proper approvals; Daily preparation of manual invoices in Trade for all parts sales; Prepare and post daily Journal Entries for sales activity; Prepare Essington end of day reports for management; Calculate and prepare daily transfers to parts heaps and update calculations as needed; Create manual scale tickets as necessary for inbound vehicles; Accumulate daily information on scrapped vehicles, check for completeness and process scrapped vehicles in Powerlink. Follow up with depots on missing or incomplete information; Perform daily reconciliation of cash, accounts receivable activity and reconciliation of general ledger balance; Perform nightly uploads of purchased vehicles to weighbridges. Systems (experience not required) : · UNIT4 Coda Financials version 11.3 · Trade2 (proprietary scrap movement software) · QlikView Business Discovery · Powerlink Position Requirements : · The qualified candidate will have a BS degree in Accounting · The preferred candidate will have 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in: a fast paced environment, a role in manufacturing · Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management · Comfortable in working conditions that will reflect plant operations in an auto demanufacturing/ warehouse environment Company Description EMR's presence in America has increased over recent years with organic growth accelerated by strategic acquisitions in key locations.
