The overall mission of Component Engineering is to take proactive and effective measures to improve equipment reliability, reduce O and M cost and prevent plant challenges due to component failures. Component engineer will provide technical direction and administrative reviews of procedures, 50.59 reviews and technical evaluations. Respond to management inquiries and provide responses to key stakeholders, audits and reviews. Review and give appropriate prioritization to work backlog and ensure that components health plans are maintained and effectively drive components health maintenance and improvements. Implement Equipment Reliability Initiatives, including motivating the correct behaviors to promote results:oriented Equipment Reliability and support plant outages.
Major Job Duties/Responsibilities: Develop and facilitate execution of Life Cycle Management (LCM) / Long Term Asset Management (LTAM) component maintenance strategies, provide component expertise/oversight during troubleshooting, failure analysis, and corrective actions, monitor and improve component health, provide technical oversight to off:site vendors refurbishing components, and develop, implement, and maintain component:oriented programs. Assure conduct of Components Engineering activities are in compliance with facility license, company and government regulations in support of safe and efficient operations of the station.
REQUIRED: BS degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical degree preferred). 0 : 5 years in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering or related industry and/or equivalent experience. Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Available for shift work during plant outage and generation challenges. Familiar with INPO Components Engineering / Equipment Reliability expectations and the ability to drive site improvement to achieve sustained excellent performance (industry top quartile performance). The successful candidate will need to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities and adaptive ways of doing business.
DESIRED: Greater than five years experience in multiple nuclear plant engineering disciplines (i.e. systems, design, programs, and procurement) and Ten years industry experience; Current or Previous NRC SRO License or certification; ability to manage projects and /or external vendors, familiar with INPO AP:913 (Equipment reliability at Nuclear Power Stations) and AP928 (Work Management Process). The successful candidate has ultimate responsibility to ensure that these Components for PSEG Nuclear meet or exceed all regulatory requirements and are achieving / approaching industry best practice.
